Modern Masters #8: Martin Scorsese

TSPDT's latest list of the 1000 most-acclaimed films of this century is out. Based on that, I have selected filmmakers with the most impressive filmographies since 2000. Their ranking considers two aspects - how many of their films feature in Top 1000, and what is the respective rank of each of these films on that list.

"There is no such thing as simple... Simple is hard."

MARTIN SCORSESE

72-year old American filmmaker

Has directed six films since 2000, ALL of which feature in Top 1000: Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, Hugo, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Highest-rated film is The Departed (2006) at #94.

Trivia: Since 2000, Scorsese has won seven Oscar nominations and one win. He is reportedly going to direct a movie on the life of Mike Tyson starring Jamie Foxx.
